After Morphosis and Voiski, it is now JuJu & Jordash’s turn to answer the Clima Records questionnaire, announcing our Autumn Session @ Batofar next Friday, November 16.

For those who weren’t with us last time, you can also listen to our resident and main label artist Arno E. Mathieu’s Dj set, recorded for the Clima Summertime celebration last July:

JUJU & JORDASH ANSWER TO CLIMA RECORDS

(french below)

Clima Records:

What is your relationship with seasons and what influence do seasons have

on your life and work?

JuJu & Jordash:

Jordan (Jordash): I’m an autumn/spring guy. But a dark studio is my

favorite environment no matter the season. The sunnier/hotter it

gets, higher the chances ill be hiding away in the studio.

Clima records:

What is your relationship with natural light in the different

places you lived in and travelled to ?

 JuJu & Jordash:

Juju: Our studio is a pretty dark environment, as there are no

windows. I guess it sets the mood for the music as well.

In general Im more of a night person, so that’s not really a big

problem and Jordash likes it misty too…

Clima records:

What is your relationship with traveling, moving and landscapes ?

JuJu & Jordash:

Juju: I enjoy traveling and playing in new places a lot, and that is

one of the big blessings of touring as part of Juju&Jordash.  As for

landscapes, living in the Netherlands (which is totally flat) I really

miss the Mediterranean/mountain landscape of my hometown of

Haifa, Israel, as well as living close to the sea. But hey, you can’t win

em’ all

Clima records:

What are your next musical projects ?

JuJu & Jordash:

Juju: Next up we will work on the third and fourth ep’s in the Golem

series (out on Golf Channel) which will include more live jazz

musicians. The second installment is already ready and will be out

soon. We are also busy with a collaboration with guitar player Dominik

van Senger, also for Golf Channel, and we will perform with him in the

end of November for the first time (in Bucharest). Hopefully in the

near future some new material from Magic Mountain High

(Juju&Jordash+Move D) will be completed. As always we’ve got some

remix work on our plate as well, something we really enjoy doing.

Clima records:

Who is one of your favorite artists in Visual Arts in general ?

JuJu & Jordash:

Jordan (Jordash): I don’t have a favorite but a couple weeks ago I

visited the newly reopened Stedelijk modern art museum here in

Amsterdam and it was very nice seeing some Malevich stuff and I was

especially impressed with paintings by the Dutch artist Karel Appel.

MORPHOSIS ANSWERS TO CLIMA RECORDS

Before Morphosis came to play his amazing live performance to the ‘Clima Springtime Session’ we sent him few questions which seems important to us.

Here is the questions, and the answers.

Clima Records:

What is your relation with seasons and what influence seasons have on your life and work ?

Morphosis:

Seasons are obviously nature’s expression of life cycle. from birth till death.
Death of nature is necessary, in order to regenerate in a better form. Our life
is related to death everyday. Things need to die sometimes in order to bring
better fruits and better continuity.

Clima Records:

What is your relation with the natural light in the differents places you lived and go ?

Morphosis:

Since i started to travel i discovered that natural light is quite different
from a place to another, and a weird thing happens sometimes, you only need to
see a picture made in a quite natural way without effects, or a footage, to
recognize places only by the typical light intensity. It’s a natural
phenomenon, but if you look deep into it, it shapes the lifestyle and
personality of the inhabitants of different areas, not only food or temperature
are relevant, Light is sometimes really important in its intensity.

Clima Records:

What is your relation with traveling, moving and landscapes ?

Morphosis:

Travelling is mankind’s primary love. It has been since the beginning to times.
It’s not a personal thing, it’s quite deep in our human nature. Humans are
nomads by definition. They travel for many reasons, to provide the food for
them and the tribe, or to change the location with the hope of a better and
more fertile ground, or just a spirit of adventure taking them to walk
distances. It is still like this nowadays, when mankind will stop moving, it
will definitely be the end, because things will not develop anymore.

Clima Records:

What is your next musical projects ?

Morphosis:

Many things in the pot.

Clima Records:

Who is one of your favorits artist in visual Arts in general ?

Morphosis:

I don’t have favourite artists in this sector, i think visual arts are really
difficult to be judged, it’s a deep matter of taste and things and be seen in
abnormous different ways from one eye to another. I think the guys who did the
visuals for me at Unsound were quite good (MFO from Berlin) I remember also
some really great works i’ve seen at the Today’s art Festival, also lately at
the Fiber Festival in Amsterdam, but i don’t remember the names.
